🥾 Thondiyar Border Hike
Duration: Full Day (8:00 AM – Evening)
Altitude Range: 900–1300 meters
Starting Point: Tribal Trackers EDC Office (Near Bamboo Grove)
Group Size: Max 12 participants (split into 2 groups)
Overview:
This hardcore full-day trek offers a chance to explore undulating terrain, climb forested slopes, and soak in panoramic views of the Cumbam Valley and Periyar escarpments. Common wildlife sightings include gaur, sloth bears, elephants, and a rich variety of birds and butterflies.
Inclusions:
Guided trek led by 2 forest guides + 1 armed forest guard
Trek through pristine forested trails, ridges, and watersheds

Like the Thondiyar trail, the Brandipara trail explores the rugged outer rim of the Periyar Tiger Reserve. Experience sweeping views and the thrill of trekking through border areas known for wildlife encounters and incredible natural beauty.
Inclusions:
Led by experienced tribal guides and an armed forest guard
Offers similar terrain and wildlife sightings as the Thondiyar trail
